Hello Wonderful - Silver tray with Charms

You know how you can look at something and have an initial feeling about it, and then later, feel completely different?  At first, the woman in this picture made me think of 2 things.  First, a spinsterley school marm, and second, a witch, haha!  I don't know why exactly, but the more I looked at her, the more I kind of started to love her.  There's a kindness in her eyes I didn't notice in the beginning.

As you can see, I edged the photo and the mat with
Versamark ink, and then added Gold Embossing
powder.  The mat behind the photo was another piece from the Yuletide Carol paper pack.  I used the Adhesive Strips, to mount the photo and the mat to the tray.  I pulled out a small scrap of gold glitter paper from the Brown and Tan glitter paper pack, and stamped the crown from the August Stamp of the Month set, on the back side of the paper.  Then I cut it out.  My initial plan was to make her a "wardrobe" of hats to wear, each being held with a small magnet.  The memo tray I showed a couple days ago was a successful use of magnets, so I thought it would be the same with this little tray.  Unfortunately, this was not the case.  I had made all the little hats, and yes a witch hat was amoung them.  I had attached small magnets to the back of each one, and sadly, they didn't stick.  Then I thought, VELCRO!  Well, that didn't look the way I wanted it to look because the hats kind of floated over her head.  Problem was, when I removed the velcro, it left a mark on her head!  After I pulled the velcro off the crown I decided to glue it to her head to cover the mark.
I stamped the phrase on Colonial White cardstock, to make the banner from the Hello Wonderful stamp set, then I mounted that piece to a scrap from the Yuletide Carol paper pack (seeing a pattern here?) and used the Adhesive Strips to adhere it to the tray.

Once that was all done, I drilled a small hole in the lip of the tray to hang some charms.  I took apart one of the chains in the Base and Bling collection, as well as an assortment of charms.  I used the bird and feather from the Dreamer set of charms, and a few of the Rhinestone charms.  Then I chose a sticker from the "Journey" style sheet to create the large oval charm.  I put the sticker into the Oval Pendant, and then I covered the the sticker with the Oval Glass cover.  I used Liquid Glass,  to hold it in place.  I hung them all together from a lobster claw clasp I had removed the chain I had took apart earlier. This way, I can remove the charms from the tray and hook it to a necklace if I ever felt like it.   I'm really having fun with the Base and Bling collection!

And here she is!
